Legal Clerks and Paralegals at Lobb & Plewe support attorneys by conducting legal research and assisting with preparation and organization of legal documents, correspondence and memoranda.

We are currently searching for a candidate who possesses his or her Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university and a GPA of at least 3.2 to perform, without limitation. No experience is necessary; provided you have a desire, energy and ability to learn quickly with reasonable training. You must be proficient in Word, detail-oriented, reliable, organized and an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing.

  • Forming corporations and handling corporate governance, including preparation of annual meeting minutes;
  • Forming limited liability companies;
  • Legal research and preparation of legal memoranda;
  • Attending meetings with attorneys and taking detailed notes;
  • Preparing forms and making necessary filings with the Secretary of State; and
  • Preparing initial drafts of estate planning documents, such as trusts and wills.

Our new hire will work in our Murrieta office on a full-time basis. Upon completion of one month of service, such new employee will be eligible for our full benefits package including, without limitation, healthcare and 401k.

Litigation Attorney

Lobb & Plewe, LLP is looking for an experienced business litigation attorney to work out of their Corona office.

Substantial deposition and some trial experience is required.

Matters handled by the firm include corporate dissolution actions, business and partnership fraud and misrepresentation cases, corporate opportunity cases, breach of fiduciary duty cases, the defense of employee cases, intellectual property disputes, commercial real estate transaction cases, and other such business related cases.

Salary is commensurate with experience and the firm has an extensive benefit program.

The firm is looking for a start date in mid to late September.

Administrative Assistant/Legal Secretary

Prominent law firm seeks experienced legal assistant with a minimum of 10 years' experience to work in our Murrieta office. An ideal candidate shall handle a busy desk with minimal supervision and with extreme attention to detail as well as proficient in Microsoft Office.

Candidate shall assist 2 attorneys full time and on occasion assist 2 additional attorneys and 1 paralegal.

The following lists the required (but not limited to) tasks to be performed in an a legal capacity:

Corporate and Business Transactions Department:

Assist partner with the following:

  • Mergers and Acquisitions/Corporate formation and administration:
    • Extensive formatting and proofreading
    • Saving documents and emails in ProLaw
    • Status tracking and follow up

Assist associate attorney with the following:

Estate Planning

  • Drafting initial trust documents
  • Familiarity with deeds - drafting new deed from current vesting deed, SB-2 exemptions, PCORs, DTTAs, and other requirements of Recorder's Office in numerous locations

Probate and Trust Administration

  • Limited probate actions '
  • 120-day notices, Affidavits of Small Estates, Heggstad petitions

Tax matters

  • Forms re FTB, CDTFA, OTA and IRS (including litigation matters in US Tax Court and Ninth District Court of Appeals)
  • Real property assessment appeals and tax bill disputes

Litigation

Occasionally assist Partner and Associate Attorney with the following:

  • Civil Litigation - Superior Courts in multiple counties, USDC in multiple divisions, Court of Appeal, etc.

All skills necessary to provide litigation backup as needed such as:

  • Format, proof and finalize pleadings
  • Prepare ancillary forms for court filings (including use of Essential Forms)
  • E-file/E-serve
  • Calendar court dates and countdown w/reminders
  • Paralegal Assistance
  • Proofread and finalize documents drafted by paralegal for attorneys (estate planning, intangible assets, intellectual property)
  • Email/mail to clients
  • Status tracking and follow up

The following lists the required (but not limited to) tasks to be performed in an administrative capacity:

Opening office promptly at 8 a.m. requiring the following tasks:

  • Check paper level in copier
  • Tidy up front lobby
  • Prepare coffee
  • Tidy up kitchen if necessary
  • Tidy up conference room if necessary
  • Check messages left overnight

Reception

  • Answer telephones when receptionist in Corona office in is unavailable
  • Handle front desk duties, i.e. check daily mail, FedEx/UPS/USPS deliveries, direct clients to conference room and provide coffee or water
  • Handle cold calls/new client referrals

General Office Duties

  • Track office and kitchen supplies (paper, pens, printer/copier toner, coffee, paper towels, etc.) and provide Corona receptionist with list to place orders.
  • Liaison between office manager and IT regarding computer and copier issues, i.e. new employee computer and copier setup, general copier maintenance (cleaning rollers, etc.).
